
Odesa regional police office reports they have apprehended more than 130 people, who have participated in mass clashes. Police have opened 10 criminal proceedings upon the event of May 2.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Head of Odesa regional Interior Ministry department Mr. Lutsyuk said that 37 people were killed in the clashes yesterday. This is reported by the press service of the Interior Ministry.
Lutsyuk has added almost 200 people were injured in the clashes, including 22 policemen.
Police have opened 10 criminal proceeding upon the range of crimes, in particular, Article 294 (Riots), Art. 115 (Willful murder), Art. 345 (Threats or violence against a law enforcement officer), Art. 296 (Hooliganism), Art. 341 (Capturing of government or public buildings or constructions), Art. 194 (Willful destruction or endamagement of property), – police statement says.
Interior Ministry also emphasized more than 130 people has been already apprehended, who took active part in the riots yesterday.
Police has appealed to the people to avoid participating in ambiguous actions and promised to bring to justice the perpetrators of yesterday's events.
