Presidium of Luhansk regional administration supports so-called “referendum” of separatists



Presidium of Luhansk regional administration supported initiative of the community to hold a referendum on the status of the region on May 11.

The Press Office of the Southeast social movement points out that on May 5, at the session of the Public Council of Luhansk region (it includes leaders of NGOs and public unions), they suggested to enter only one question in the voting list: “Do you support an Act on the state sovereignty of Luhansk People’s Republic?”
Another decision on empowering people’s governor of Luhansk region Valeriy Bolotov with extended powers was also accepted,

Presidium demands from the current central government “to immediately stop all punitive operations, withdraw troops to the places of permanent location and disarm all paramilitary groups”, “return to agreements, reached on February 21 and certified by foreign diplomats,” “immediately adopt a law on decriminalization of all participants in the protests in eastern and southern regions of Ukraine,” “disarm all illegally armed radical groups, primarily Praviy Sector, and legally provide the status of the Russian language as second official.”
