SBU protects presidential candidates to avoid possible threats - Nalyvaichenko

Security Service Chairman Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said that the SBU, jointly with other law enforcement bodies protect presidential candidates to avoid possible threats and to ensure holding of the election.
He has said this at a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The Security Service of Ukraine, jointly with other law enforcement workers, cooperates with the headquarters of main contenders for presidency. We study all threats, about which we receive information, so that there was no danger for the lives of presidential candidates and that the presidential election was held on May 25,” Nalyvaichenko said.
At the same time, he said that thanks to the established work on the protection of presidential candidates, they managed to respond to the threat from unknown persons to Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko.
"We managed to avoid potential threats regarding the presidential candidates Poroshenko and Tymoshenko. They had the time and went to another place, so the question of the protection of presidential candidates is important today,"
