PILOT HAS BEEN KILLED IN SLOVYANSK DURING ATO, AVAKOV

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said a pilot had been killed and others wounded in Slovyansk during the active phase of the Anti-terrorist operation in the morning.

He wrote this on his Facebook page.

“The active phase of the ATO was launched at 4.30 am in the area Slovyansk-Kramatorsk. 9 checkpoints of the terrorists within the town limits of Slovyansk were taken under control by the MIA units, National Guard and Ukrainian Army. The town is tightly surrounded", - Avakov told.

“The terrorists opened the fire, using heavy armament, including grenade launchers and anti-aircraft missiles. One pilot has been killed and others wounded. We're fighting the real professional soldiers of fortune”, - he reported.
