UN Under-Secretary General to visit Ukraine on May 7-8

The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman plans to visit Ukraine this week, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports.

"The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman plans to visit Ukraine on May 7-8", Director at Foreign Ministry Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis said at the briefing in Kyiv.

He has noticed the visit is going to happen upon the initiative of the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and it is aimed to activate the UN assistance to the de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine.

"It is expected Feltman will have a range of meeting with the Ukrainian authorities and the Foreign Ministry officials", Perebyinis added.
