SBU Locates Centre Of Training Anti-Ukrainian Diversionists In Feodosiya

The Security Service of Ukraine has located a centre of training anti-Ukrainian diversionists in Feodosiya, the Republic of Crimea, unrecognised by Ukraine, reads a statement made by the SBU press service. In course of operating investigative actions the SBU detained a Ukrainian citizens working for foreign intelligence. The detained mans says he was hooked in April by an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Central Command of Armed Forces of Russia during a travel to Crimea. He says anyone could come and join the ranks of the so-called Crimean 'self-defence' with subsequent undergoing training on the base of the Marine training depot off Feodosiya. "Ukrainian citizens who entered illegal armed formations received UAH 100 a day, and those who had military instruction several times more," the statement said. Ukrainian and Russian citizens were receiving training in the centre, prepared for subversive activities in Ukraine. "RF power-wielding agencies' instructors were giving training," the statement underlined.
When fulfilling tasks of the foreign intelligence agency, the detained man from April 6 to 8 at the head of a group of 10 was taking part in separatist actions in Kharkiv Region, including those related to forceful seizure of government buildings. Criminal proceedings have been instituted against him under Article 111, Section 1 of the Penal Code (high treason), which carries punishment of 10 to 15 years in prison. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on April 14 the SBU officers in Melitopol, Zaporizhia Region detained a Ukrainian citizen, suspected of heading to Luhansk to accomplish a diversionary task set by the Russian military intelligence.
